“Welcome to the Applied Fluid Mechanics Laboratory in Mechanical Engineering at KAIST!”
We study the fluid mechanics of complex systems found in nature and technology. Our primary interest is to understand the form and function of living creatures in a variety of scales and their interaction with surrounding environment, which is followed by exploring nature-inspired application for novel technologies. We are also interested in flow physics and fluid-structure interaction of engineering problems such as energy conversion, environmental sustainability, and fluid machines for industry and health. In order to achieve this goal, we emphasize multi-disciplinary research and collaboration with other research groups
